John Ojeisekhoba
Founder and CEO

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​John Ojeisekhoba is the founder and CEO of J&O Emergency Management and Security Consultants. John travels around the country conducting proven assessments, training, and presenting seminars for the educational sector, youth camps (focuses on safety apparatus and plans for k1-12 groups), faith-based organizations, and other entities. John focus on cost-effective and initial security needs and apparatus, specialized training for constituents, and development of on-site staff who would continue to implement the established security program. John has also served as a motivational speaker at churches, colleges, and at the municipal level.

 

John began his professional career as a risk underwriter for Chubb & Sons Insurance Company before embarking on a career in campus and municipal law enforcement. John has served the Biola University Campus Safety Department since 1999 and has been the chief of the department for the last 10 years. With over 3,000 students living on campus, John has sought to improve the department to the highest standard possible. He developed what he refers to as the Community Service Model, identifying key areas to accomplish the department’s mission, vision and values; public safety and crime prevention, customer-based services, community outreach programs including to people from diverse backgrounds, a robust emergency preparedness and response program and a federal compliance program. To achieve optimum results, John guided the department in building strong partnerships with twenty-four departments and areas across the campus, bridging gaps and improving relationships, collaborating with external agencies and campus police/safety departments nationwide, overseeing the development and growth of department personnel, elevating professionalism across the department, and strategically creating processes, systems, resources, and proven methods that made the department into one of the best campus public safety departments in the nation. John has served as an adjunct faculty member at Biola University for over fifteen years teaching a 1 unit self-defense course. On September 1, 2019, John was promoted to a newly created position of Associate Vice President and Chief of Campus Safety. His new responsibilities include building an international resilience program. John has served as an adjunct faculty member at Biola University for over fifteen years and is a member of the President’s Advisory Council.

 

John is a recipient of numerous awards which include Campus Safety Magazine’s National Director of the Year Award, Reserve Police Officer of the Year Award, the Merit Award from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), the prestigious Hoffman Award from Biola University, a Special Recognition Award from the County of Los Angeles, a Special Achievement Award from Sheriff Jim McDonnell of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a Special Achievement Award from the Biola University Board of Trustees, the Mayor of La Mirada Award, the National Clery Compliance Officer Award from the National Association of Clery Compliance Professionals, and the 2019 President’s Award from IACLEA. In 2018, John was appointed to the IACLEA Board of Directors.

 

John received a Master’s Degree in International Business from Biola University in 2000, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership in 2004. John serves as a sworn Reserve Police Officer in the city of Garden Grove, California, and as a co-chair of the City of La Mirada Disaster Steering Committee.
